Confirmation
Through the reception of Confirmation, the candidate’s relationship to God the Father is deepened by the powerful grace of the Holy Spirit in and through the Risen and Glorified Christ. As Lumen Gentium, the Dogmatic Constitution on the Church of the Second Vatican Council, succinctly states:
"By the sacrament of Confirmation, the baptized are more perfectly bound to the Church and are enriched with a special strength of the Holy Spirit. Hence they are, as true witnesses of Christ, more strictly obliged to spread and defend the faith by word and deed." (LG, 11) The St. Michael Parish Confirmation preparation program is a two-year program, normally beginning during the 7th grade, that is directed primarily to the parents of the Confirmandi who, in turn, are the primary catechists for their children. We provide all of the materials and give the parents support and guidance on a monthly basis. The Parish will also assess the student's progress monthly toward preparation for this Sacrament of Initiation. For more information, email [email protected] |
